Day 1 | Thessaloniki – Barcelona.
We will meet at Macedonia Airport for our direct flight to Barcelona. Upon arrival, we will board our bus and depart for our hotel. Check-in.
Day 2 | Barcelona – Montjuïc Hill – Spanish Village – Paseo de Gracia – Sagrada Familia – Park Güell. "Visit a treasure of religious significance with unique natural beauty..."
Breakfast at our hotel and departure from the city center to begin our second tour of the beautiful capital of Catalonia. We will visit the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, Barceloneta, and the old fishing village. We will continue to Montjuic hill where we will learn about its rich history and then visit the famous Spanish Village, a miniature version of Spain, which was built for the 1929 World's Fair. We continue to the imposing Sagrada Familia temple, Gaudi's most important work and the most visited monument in Barcelona. We will take a guided tour of the exterior and then depart for the famous Park Güell (tickets not included), designed by Antonio Gaudi, an example of harmony between nature and architecture, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then free time for lunch and shopping. We continue to Barcelona beach and Barceloneta. An endless beach, easily accessible with golden sand, important sights, excellent restaurants, wonderful bars, and endless tapas. For the evening, we recommend watching Flamenco in its homeland and letting yourself be carried away by its intense and passionate rhythm.
Day 3 | Barcelona – Girona – Figueres / Dalí Museum. "Surrealism & walks by the sea..."
Breakfast at the hotel. Today's full-day tour will begin with Figueres, the city of Salvador Dalí. At his museum (tickets not included), we will see the largest collection of his works in the world, from his early years to his death. Many of his works feature Gala, the woman and love of his life, while his tomb is located in the center of the museum, in the place and city that honored him more than any other. As you leave the museum, enjoy the jewelry exhibition, which consists of 37 unique pieces designed by the multi-talented painter. We continue to Girona, a beautiful city on the banks of the Onar River with beautifully painted houses. We will admire the city's cathedral and walk through the former Jewish quarter, where the Sephardim, the Jews of Spain, lived. Return to Barcelona in the late afternoon.
Day 4 | Barcelona – Walking tour
Breakfast and then transfer to the historic center for our tour. We will see the historic Gothic quarter, known as Barrio Gotico, with its beautiful stone alleys and its trademark, the impressive Cathedral of Saint Eulalia. We continue to Isidre Nonel Square and the impressive wall decorated with 4,000 ceramic tiles printed with photographs. Together, the tiles create a larger image that, when viewed from a distance, forms a unique mosaic kiss. "The world begins with every kiss" is the slogan inscribed on the project's plaque, created to mark the 300th anniversary of the city's liberation. We continue along the Porta del Angel shopping street to end up at the largest and most commercial square, Plaza Cataluna – and finally reach the famous Las Ramblas pedestrian street, with its flower market, street artists and painters, and endless liveliness.
Day 5 | Barcelona – Thessaloniki – Return flight.
Free time in the morning until the return flight.
