Easter in Malta, 4 days

Gathering early in the morning at 04:20 at the airport "MACEDONIA" and departure for Malta. Immediately after our arrival (the flight lasts one hour and 20') at Malta airport transfer to the famous capital of the order of the Knights of St. Ioannis, Valletta, where we will first enjoy our morning coffee and then take a walking tour, because cars are not allowed in the Old Town section. It is a unique Kastropolis with special historical importance and boundless beauty. Crossing the Floriana Gate (Floriana Gate) the scenery transports us imaginably to the period of the Knights of St. John, amazing buildings, beautiful balconies with wooden constructions in bright colors, chapels and the impressive cathedral of St. Publio foreshadows the images that will follow . It's time to meet the fountain with the Tritons (Triton Fountain) and pass one of the most stately hotels in the Mediterranean – Phenicia, an excellent choice for a drink in the unique in terms of its elegance and beauty. Everything around us is renovated by the unique architect Renzo Piano Valletta welcomes us in a complex of structures, 70 meters above sea level, walls and ramparts, moats and battlements compose an image of a medieval city-castle, cultural capital of Europe in 2018 that you won't find like it anywhere in the world! Our effort on the first day is to obtain, as much as possible, a more structured view of it. The "auberge" (mansions) of the John Knights, the Opera building destroyed by the bombings of the Second World War, Our Lady of Victory, the newly constructed parliament, the Prime Minister's office, are some just from the images we will admire before visiting the gardens of Baracca, one of the most beautiful parts of the capital with an amazing view of the Grand Harbor and the Three Cities. The Cathedral of St. John with Caravaggio's paintings will leave us stunned with its amazing interior decoration. The central square with the Palazzo of the Knights (Old Parliament) but also the residence of the Magistrates during the omnipotence of the Order (1530-1798), the recently renovated closed market (Il Suq tal Belt) with the agricultural products of the Maltese land, is just some of the places we will visit. In your free time, we will suggest you to cross the narrow streets parallel and perpendicular to the main pedestrian street (Republic street), visit Strait street with its atmospheric small cafes, the Hastings gardens, the St. Barbara Bastions district with the wonderful view of the harbor and Fort Elmo at the main point of Valletta (old prison where the movie "Midnight Express" was filmed). Transfer to our hotel. The availability of the rooms (check in) takes place, according to Maltese legislation, after 15:00 (noon). After the necessary rest, early evening acquaintance with the area of ST. JULIANS with countless suggestions for food and entertainment
