English buffet breakfast and departure for Windsor Castle, First we will pass by the Royal College of Eton which was founded in 1440. The environment of the college that under its arched towers still nurtures princes, dukes, lords, counts, and aristocrats of every class. Eton College is an all-boys boarding school. It is one of the most recognized educational institutions, with prestige and rules that resemble a royal protocol, while its students - children of the world's elite - manage to be admitted in a huge percentage to universities of the so-called Ivy League - but also to the prestigious institutions of Oxford and Cambridge in particular and in fact at a rate of 30%. It is no coincidence that 20 Prime Ministers of Great Britain have graduated from Eton College, including David Cameron, Boris Johnson, King Charles and many others. Princes William and Harry are among its best-known graduates, while if we look back in the past in its corridors we will "meet" personalities such as Ian Fleming, George Orwell, but also members of the Rothschild, Goldsmith and Vanderbilt families. We then cross over the River Thames which rises from the mountains of Wales and passes through the Royal Village of Windsor. Windsor is a Royal village because the summer palaces of the Royal family are housed within the castle. The castle is notable for its long association with the English and later British royal family, but also for its architecture. The original Windsor Castle was built in the 11th century, following the Norman conquest of England under William I. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by each monarch. The castle also includes the chapel of St George, which was built in the 15th century and is the spiritual place of the castle. It is the most populated castle in the world, as more than 500 people live and work there. Queen Elizabeth II used the castle as her weekend residence, as well as a place for receptions and reception of foreign guests. Every year the Waterloo Ceremony is held there, with the King in attendance, and the annual ceremony of the Order of the Garter, held in St George's Chapel. After the end of the tour leaving Windsor we will pass through the back side of the castle where we will see the route that Queen Elizabeth used to take which is an absolute one mile straight to attend every June and watch the Royal Ascot Races. Continuing we will pass through Runnymede Park where we will see the Magna Carta monument where in 1215 King John the Exalted met with a group of barons in this small piece of countryside. Here he sealed the Magna Carta, considered by many to be the symbolic first step on the road to modern democracy.
